Ben Woodworth here for our last video reflection on what we learned and three takeaways from our class over the last eight weeks. My first one is use of technology. What I want to do is make sure I use technology in a more deliberate or intentional manner, follow the Bernhard and Kavanagh (2023) article where they talk about using a checklist (for EdTech). I used to be a pilot so I have a checklist mentality, so what I would like to do is incorporate technology and EdTech into my weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning in a more intentional manner than I have in the past. Second takeaway, I want to make sure I am thinking of technology as a means and not an end unto itself.   Transcript         I teach four inclusion classes daily. Each class contains a large variety of accommodations sourced from Individualized Education Plans and 504s. Working in such classrooms, differentiation is essential to allow each student an opportunity to academically achieve to their greatest potential. Hughes & Roblyer (2023) discuss the importance of ensuring that the technology we integrate into our classroom includes assistive technology including both devices and services to help promote equity among our students. Tomlinson (2017) embraces technology for the assistance it can provide when differentiating for content, process and product. One example of an assistive technology I utilize is the reading program Achieve3000. This application provides content rich articles specifically tailored to a student’s reading LEXIL.
